Hello all,
I'm gonna be very fortunate to be spending the next 24 days in the Visayas, but needed a few pointers on my potential itinerary. Budget-wise, I'm not doing too bad but I'm not high maintenance so the cheaper the better really. I'm flying into Cebu on Wednesday 21st November but the plan is to head straight out to Maya (I land around 3ish) and head to Malapascua that day. Is this feasible? There looks to be plenty of dive shops and hotels, but any hints on which are more hospitable…

Info for my trip

Hi everybody,
I´m planning my trip from the 8th January till the 28th January, 21 days, flying into and out from Manila. My idea was spending one week in Luzon island, in the north, then moving down to Legazpi-Donsol, and then trying to reach Coron or Palawan, from there return to Manila.
My questions are:
-is it possible to leave Legazpi and reach Palawan without going to Manila? Either fly or island hopping, I don´t mind.
-I want to do some diving, plus spend some days exploring places, so I guess…

MANILA (AFP) — A "sophisticated" bomb intended for a pre-selected target killed a legislator and three people at the Philippines House of Representatives, the national police chief said Thursday.

Preliminary police findings indicate the bomber was experienced and bolstered the police theory that the explosion was aimed specifically for Muslim congressman Wahab Akbar, who was killed in the blast, said Director-General Avelino Razon.

"The one who made this bomb was pretty experienced. It is…

I'm going to Philippines for the first time in February. I am flying into Clark (Manila) and am visiting Boracay and Cebu. My question is about how to get to these two islands. If I can I would prefer not to fly. Is the boat the best way? Or bus and boat? How long time does it take and what are the costs?

I've found a boat that goes from Manila to Cebu in about 24 hours, but I'm still curious about prices, other options and information on Cebu-Boracay and Boracay-Manila.

Thanks!

I've done some searches but would appreciate some specific information. I'll be flying into Clark and need to travel to Manila, where I'll spend a couple of days before returning to the U.S. I'll arrive about 1:00PM and wonder about the best way to get to the Ermita/Malate part of the city? Are there shuttles from Clark? Or, will I need to go to the Dau bus station? Also, how often do buses leave and how long should it take at that time of day? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated…

Thank everyone for your time in replying to me- i recently asked about visas in Phils and found from your replys that 2 yrs are possible for a visa extension- Now i have another question- what if I start a business there-Will I have to leave it in 2 years?
This doesnt sound like they want foreign investment- Hopefully there is an answer to staying a long time and doing business?

thinking about hiring a bike when I'm in Tacloban.

I only ever saw bikes for hire in Boracay before and they seemed quite expensive, certainly compared to Thailand, like 500 pesos or maybe even more. How much am I looking at in a less touristed place like this? Can they be relied upon to try and pull a fast one and claim damage? Do they need a credit card or will a passport do?

I'm looking at booking a room at Frendz Resort, Boracay. It's ~USD 60 per night for a double. Has anybody out there stayed at Frendz Resort before, and at this time of year (Jan 4 - Jan 10 2007), is it good value?
