Hi,
Well as the regular posters here will know I visit the islands regularly for lengthy periods of time I have now decided to avoid being ripped off by banks at home and abroad, and also to avoid carrying large sums of cash with me, to try to open a Philippines bank account. Believe me not as easy as it sounds due at least in part to conflicting advice/information given out by the banks. For instance contacted PI bank in the uk and they told me to enquire in Manila, did that and they said…
Hi everyone,
I'm travelling to The Philippines at the end of December for two weeks with my boyfriend.
He wants to go to Siargao for the surf and I really want to see the whale sharks at Donsol. Is this do-able in two weeks? I'll be flying in to either Manila or Cebu from Sydney. From my research so far, it seems like it will be a lot of back and forth. With limited time we'd probably be looking at flying everywhere too. Are the prices crazy expensive at that time of year?
Also, what is the…
HI all,
my girlfriend and I will be spending about 2 weeks on Palawan as of mid October. We are mostly looking to relax on the beaches and do some tours and island hopping. Since we have plenty of time we of course also want to make sure we get to see all things we need to see (north of PP).
The rough itinerary as I envisage it at the moment looks as follows:
10.10. Depart
11.10. Arrive Manila
12.10. Manila to Puerto Princesa 7pm arrival
13.10. PP to Sabang for underwater river, night in Sabang

Hi Guys,
Im going to be visiting my friend in Makati Manila for 2 weeks, my friend usually works on the weekdays, can anyone recommend some day excursions from Manila for weekdays that are ok to do alone? And prices as well maybe.
Also on the weekends we would like to visit some of the other islands, can I know which are best to go to for a weekend and roughly how much it would be?
Thanks
I am flying into Manila and I know I'll get a 30 day free visa upon arrival. We plan to stay for 3 months in PP. I know you can go to one of the Immigration offices to get an extension but will I be able to get a 2 month extension? I have read that you can get the extension at the airport on arrival but you only get 29 days meaning I'd have to go back and get a 2nd extension. Point is I hope to only go through the extension process once and we will be a very long journey away from the closest…
There is an overnight ferry from Caticlan to Batangas leaving 10pm and arriving 6am...Does anyone know how reliable this ferry is? like is it prone to being cancelled etc? I plan to go Nov 1st
Looking for good advice here. We're looking at an apartment rental above Diniwid Beach on Boracay but is this walking distance to the bars/restaurants at Station1/2/3 or is this really too far to stay?
Hi I am Mitchi and my husband just bought a 28 foot Yacht which he is presently fixing should be finished in 2 weeks. We are not experienced sailor and want to learn more. We are looking for anyone who is experience in sailing who might want to tour around the islands. We are also looking to maybe go Malaysia to Thailand. Even if you have no experience you can still help out boat sleeps 4 to 6 people. If you are interested please send your cel or email for more info.
Cheers Mitchi
Hi All,
It will be my first travelling alone and I'm debating between El Nido or Boracay. For about 5 days since I wont have enough time to do both, every insight is welcomed! I hear like Boracay is a lot more touristic than El Nido and more of a "party" destination compared to El Nido. Also, is there a nightlife in El Nido? I am looking to explore the scenery and beaches, but also want to enjoy a nightlife as well? I really appreciate your help!
Cheers,
Thanks,
