Hi,

Whats the best things you did in the Philippines?
Best things on the cheap?
places to stay etc?

We've got about 4 weeks there and although thats not all the time in the world to get round the philippines, what is a good spread of things to do and places to go ?

Thanks :)

Hi Jack
What are you into? You like to dive, snorkelling , hiking? We can give you places to go if you tell us your interests and your budget.
Enjoy

Currently the plan is to go through Thailand and Malaysia quickly and do a few things I didn't get to do on my last trip but then The Philippines is uncharted territory. Diving would be good, everything really, trying to experience a taste of the whole place a bit. budget at this point is probably around £1500 for The Philippines

If you could fly into Cebu instead of Manila. Go south to Oslob to swim with the Whale sharks. This can be done in one day.
Malapascua north of Cebu is great for diving. with mantra rays and has fantastic beaches.
Palawan is also cool go north to El Nido.
public transport is good and very cheap.

If I had 4 weeks I would focus on Palawan and the mountains of north Luzon, which gives you good variety... Palawan has the most spectacular marine scenery, and the mountains make a good contrast. I would avoid the island-hopping thing, which tends to drag you from one sandy beach with coconut trees to another to another, spending a lot of time on boats and buses to get to places that aren't much different from the last place. 4 weeks gives you time to do Palawan and the mountains thoroughly, and to add one more specific destination if there's something in particular that you want to do.

Hi, If you like some white beaches aside from Boracay you might like Polillo Island in Quezon Province. It's a distance far from the noise of the city. Very peaceful.
