Expected in next few days..

Wind speeds not especially high at present, but as we have seen in the past, that can change. Worth keeping track of..

MONDAY AFTERNOON: Reaches its peak strength as it makes landfall along the shores of Northern Samar...about 16 km north-northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar [2PM DEC 14: 12.6N 124.7E @ 185kph]. Confidence Level: HIGH.

Yet again Samar gets the brunt..

Heavy rain in southern Bohol earlier although is now clear. I'll head west to stay in front of it. I was going that way anyway. But the news sped me up a day or two. It looks like it will be all rain anyway - not a big blower.

Looks like not a biggie thank heavens, wind speeds nothing compared to previous typhoons, but I was kind of looking forward to hunkering down with a brownout and nothing to do but.....

You may get enough, for ghosts to re-visit Bantayan. Of course Samar is going to bear the brunt as usual. In Bicol I think they are worried. It's going northwes though and Manila won't get it.

Good picture here of how big it was, but looks like the mass evacuations have prevented a major loss of life..

Not too bad here, not even a brownout, just a lot of rain yesterday..

Hi.. we are due to arrive in Philippines on Wednesday late afternoon and planning to head to Tagaytay straightaway for two days. Our itinerary is Tagaytay, Manila, Bohol. Does anyone think that the road to Tagaytay, or our stay in Tagyatay, is going to pose any difficulty?

I also read about another one coming later this week. "Another potential tropical system will follow in the footsteps of Melor later this week. This tropical threat will bring another round of heavy rain to the Philippines as early as Thursday or Friday." Does anyone have more information about this?

Thanks!
