Hi,
So were trying to get to palau to go swimming in the jelly fish lake, on the cheapest budget possible. Is there a boat that goes there or is there a cheap airline, how can we get there on a budget? or does paying a bit more for a faster journey?
Also just by chance, whats the cheapest and best way of getting around the islands in the Philippines? is it like in Thailand/Vietnam/Cambodia where there are transport companies everywhere offering travel options

There used to be a budget flight from Davao to Koror, but that was years ago. Better option would be to go to the Jellyfish Lake near Surigao..
it is not like Thailand/Laos/Cambodia/Vietnam where there are enterprising people offering minibus services between tourist destinations specifically geared towards foreigners. There isn't enough of them even if anybody in the Philippines could be bothered to do it properly. .
The cheapest way to get to Palau is with United Airlines and even then the flight is via Guam and it takes 10+ hours in travel time. The last time we looked into it, it was about £400 each return.
Cebu Pacific briefly started a flight a few years ago due to all the OFW's in Palau but it didn't last long.
When I flew to Palau from Davao many years ago with Continental is was ridicously cheap, something like 3000 peso return, so I couldnt pass up the opportunity. To this day Palau and its neighbouring Islands especially Peleliu, has been the most amazing place I have ever been. Not the sort of place to just spend a few days, you need a few weeks..
