Hi
I'm hoping someone would be able to assist. I have seen a few forums that are quite old and some conflicting so wanted to check.
I need to travel from T3 Manila NAIA airport to Tagaytay ( approx 4-5pm). I haven extended my work trip to travel around a bit and my colleagues will probably be worried about me if I don't really know where I need to go.
Any advice on easiest route? I'm definitely keen on the bus but maybe taxi to bus station to get the right bus?!

Take a taxi from T3 to the Coastal Mall bus terminal where you can get a bus to Tagaytay city. The bus terminal is not far from T3 but expect some traffic if you are travelling at 4 to 5pm. The new expressway from T3 to Solaire opened a few days ago which will cut down the time but expect to pay another P40 approx on top of the meter
Expect a 3 hour trip to Tagaytay at rush hour

Commuting via cabs/buses is one way, as mentioned by gwapo earlier.

I would, however, recommend enlisting a van rental to come pick you up and drop you off to wherever you need to be in Tagaytay. It's safer that way, your baggage is a lot more secure, and you can take faster routes to Tagaytay-- probably a 2-hour trip maximum (assuming you run into some rush hour traffic).

This country guesthouse is up on Airbnb, and offers airport pickup/dropoff services: http://www.nanasfarm.ph.

Hope this helps!

I'm not sure about the easiest route but in my opinion traveling by van is faster but the fare's definitely higher. Where are you staying, by the way? @daniellenardini

Thanks for that reference @bigcountrymarketing

In my experience the traffic's really heavy when you reach the Nuvali, Laguna area (if in case you'll be bound to this route).

"In my experience the traffic's really heavy when you reach the Nuvali, Laguna area "

That's the understatement of the year and a prime example of how unchecked building of multiple mall complexes within a confined area with little infrastructure improvements and a total lack of environmental impact planning causes travelling chaos
Whereas there are attempts at alleviating the travelling chaos in Manila by extended coding restrictions, opening of private roads to the travelling public and new rules on Bus terminal operations on Edsa, very few provincial cities seem to recognize that desperate times call for desperate measures

As far as the OPs question is concerned bus routes from NAIA/ baclaran terminal all ply the CAVITEX coastal highway then along Aguinaldo to Tagaytay
There are no buses or vans plying the route through Nuvali to Tagaytay

If you are willing to wait in line for approximately 3-4 hours on top of the travel time, taking the bus is an option plus it is cheaper. If you want convenience, you'd have to pay a little more than the usual maybe your friends here could help too. But if your friends/colleagues have their own vehicle, maybe you guys could arrange something.
