What are the most memorable places you have ever been to in the Philippines? For whatever reason, best scenery, best beaches, best experiences you have ever had. I know theres a few old hands here that can contribute..

For me .
1 Batad, sitting at the bottom of those Terraces and wondering how the !!!! they ever built that..
2 Sailing through the Islands of the Bacuit Archipeligo and gazing in awe at the stunning beaches..
3 Midnight swimming off the beach in Siargao, heavenly..

El Nido - beautiful beaches, amazing scenery.
Palaui Island - off the beaten track, unspoilt and remote.
Alona Beach & Bohol - a great destination that has it all.

The Batanes Islands, which don't seem to get that many tourists despite their extensive air links right to Manila. A unique place with lots of sweeping vistas due to the topography and lack of trees in many areas. Interesting locals. Pleasant breezes. But not a great deal of nightlife or beach parties or so on, so maybe that's the limiting factor.

Rappler has run several articles on the Batanes:

Beautiful Batanes: 10 things to do

Through the eyes of a first-timer: Batanes, the evergreen

Also, no kidnappings up there. So far.

despite their extensive air links right to Manila. -phil air is only one of the airline that fly there -not sure what other one does -maybe its because of the high rates they charge -like flights to masbate and el nido
.

I think the current carriers are PAL Express (that's PhilAir, right?) Skyjet (they also fly to Caticlan and Coron and seem to have frequent ticket specials), and a smaller outfit called Sky Pasada. I took PAL, but there are other options and potentially better fares.

no more pal express ,checked pal and lowest roundtrip is 10000 peso, great if you really want to go there but when most other places only cost around 1000 roundtrip .maybe when cebu pac start flying there-rates will be more reasonable

Palaui Island looks good also, and is in the same area, maybe I can figure out a way of combining both?.mmm..

I loved EL NIDO -- that place is really beautiful. Although it would be nice if they could finally finish some portions of the roads which are still dirt roads. That would make the trip faster.
