Hi all, heading to Palawan for my first trip to the Philippines.Unfortunately, it's a short trip (only 3 weeks), and to make the most of my time, I'm rushing through to Port Barton as quickly as possible so I can recover from the transit from North America at Thelma and Toby's Island Adventure and then take my time working up towards Coron.

I do want to pick up a SIM card for my phone, as well as stock up on cash before I get to Port Barton. My flight gets into NAIA T1 at 11a, then I connect to a flight to Puerto Princesa at 2p out of T4. IF my flight in is on time, I should have just enough time to get my SIM sorted out as well as visit multiple ATMs to get the cash I will need. If I understand correctly, I should look for an HSBC ATM first to pull out 40K, then BPI to pull out 20K, then anything else I can find to pull out 10K each.

However, if my flight is delayed coming in, and it's tight getting to T4, I may have to just rush over and try to sort things out in Puerto Princesa. Does anyone here know if SIMs are available at PP's airport? Also ATMs at the airport? Or do I need to wait to get into the city to do both? I'd prefer to get things done at the airport (which I presume it's safer than trying to pull out load of cash on the streets in downtown Puerto...)

Any recommendations on SIM carrier for Port Barton, El Nido, and Coron?

Cheers,

Oh great - is my transfer time not enough time to clear immigration and get to terminal 4? I had read that if you taxi over, it can be done fairly quickly, but haven't been to NAIA before. I'll post a new topic to see if I need to do something else...

u can make it all going well but def nit enough time to go looking for banks /atm and withdrawing lots of money ,check in closes 45 mins before flight and you still have to go thru entering airport /luggage scanners etc .
