As most of the literature is out of date could somebody advise me on the situation regarding ATM's. Are they readily available? What is the situation re moneychangers, I would be taking GPB and have sometimes found these hard to change in some towns.
Does anybody have any recommendations for somewhere decent to stay. I am looking at White Beach, Aninuan and Talipanan. All info gratefully received.

Definetely an ATM in Puerto Galera Town and think I saw one also in Sabang. Very few accomodation options at Aninuan although it is the most picturesque beach. For me White Beach is far too developed, pretty much end to end concrete. Talipanan is nice with a few rustic guesthouses but little else. We stayed in Peurto Galera Town, hired a motorbike and did trips out to all the beaches..

I think it would be best if you have your money converted into PHP to avoid inconveniences because there are instances that there are ATMs but the system is offline or the moneychangers are closed that day.

when you say somewhere decent -are you willing to pay 5000 peso upwards per night?

You can change GBP even in very small towns these days. Palawan Pawnshops accept them. In fact I just changed some in Naval, Biliran today. Much more reliable than ATM's in fact.

If it's good. Possibly.
