Hello
has anybody travelled with a baby? How is it medical wise - basic medical services? As I have already been on Cebu (Alona, Dumaguete) we are rather planning going elsewhere (eg. Coron, El Nido, Port Barton). Do you have any experience and recommendation for travelling with a baby? Do we need to bring some medicine?
Cheers
Beat

We travelled with a baby in Indonesia, also 10 months old last year, so very similar to travel in the Philippines. Baby was only having a combination of breast milk, tinned powder formula, and mushy food. We brought the tinned formula with us from Australia and only used bottled water to mix, and we knew that we could buy packaged sachets of mushy baby food in Jakarta and Bali- big places with lots of rich locals and expats. I don't know similar places in Philippines other than Manila, sorry!
So basically, he was eating the same as at home.
Otherwise, my son was very hardy and with the usual precautions to avoid mosquito bites and keeping him cool and hydrated he coped very well. He did get some prickly heat.
We were told by a pediatrician that mosquito repellent with the active ingredient Picaridin was best for little ones, and we also had medicine for diarrhea with us, but thankfully not needed.
Hope this helps!

Traveling with a baby is a huge hassle, so unless you have to I don't see why you would want to do it,
especially in a developing country.

No forum 2233, it is not a huge hassle. Surprisingly hassle free with some prior planning.
However, we were travelling to see family- mum is from a developing country so we had a good reason to make the effort.

well we actually do live permantently in a developing country, Hanoi with polution etc... but here we have hospitals. So my question is more about what itinerary in PH and regarding health issues as I dont know the PHilippines...
