Hi,
does someone know good offbeach snorkeling with good coral on Bohol?
Thanks

Anda is the only place I've been where there is good offshore snorkeling. Although there MUST be others.
You don't have to stay in one of the hideously expensive, poor value-for-money resorts that Anda is infamous for either, because the coral is from Anda's public beaches.
I used to stay in a lodge in Jagna and go there on daytrips because I don't like it when somebody has the nerve to ask for 1500-2000 for a rubbish room and 90 for a small SM beer. And neither do a lot of other people either, because the resorts were always empty whenever I went there.
Without having my own motorbike it would have been awkward. Using public transport you'd have to get a tricycle or habel-habel at the turn-off at Guindulman and it's still another 10-12 km from a there.
Cabilao is a small offshore island just off the West coast of Bohol. Only a couple of places to stay but snorkelling was really good for both fish and coral.. A short swim out to the house-reef provided hours of enjoyment with much larger fish coming in at the drop-off.
The snorkelling was tons better than the tours from Alona to places like Balicassag etc
The Balicasag Reef seems to be a great snorkeling spot but it has got some bad reviews from a similar site.

Thank you all for the inspiration. I did not know about Anda. Now after i checked it it is on my plan. Any suggestions about reliable Motorbike renatal who has Semi-automatic in Tubigon or Tagbilaran?

Hi - could you please give the name and location (?gps/googlemap link?) of your cheap lodge - thanks

DQ Lodge, Jagna right opposite the port. Good quality rooms are about 700.
you need a motorbike, unfortunately all the renters in Tagbilaran are overcharging gits. I wouldn't even advise anybody to go to Bohol at all really, because the vendors of just about everything there have such a conceited attitude. Go somewhere else, to some other island where they are not so conceited and where they don't overcharge.
