I had already booked my flights to Cebu early Nov. My ideal plan was to go to Malapascua& Bantayan. However, im having second thoughts. My galfrend will be travelling with me. We are looking for nice white beaches to laze around & do some snorkelling. I am a diver but my galfrend is not. It is unlikely i will be doing much diving coz don't wish to leave her by herself. Im looking a few other options:
1) Dumaguete and Siquijor
2) Bohol and Camiguin (as advised in another post) I dont mind flying from Cebu airport

Any other destinations for nice beaches & good snorkelling around Cebu?

Bohol is a good choice for nice white beaches plus it is near Cebu. Other than the white beaches, you can also take a short trip to view the chocolate hills, have a buffet lunch at the Loboc river (~$6), and catch a glance of the smallest primate in the world-- the tarsier. You may also want to check Palawan for a great snorkeling experience.=)

Moalboal has fantastic snorkelling - though the beach is non existent. But you can just walk out of your hotel room and into the water and start snorkelling, otherwise get a boat out to Pescador Island etc.

I recommend Bantayan Island in Cebu. also Bohol especially isis bungalows along Alona Beach. Check out Bohol Bee Farm as well. They're located in panglao also

Stick to Bantayan Island if you won't to please your girlfriend. Great beaches and the chances are you will have it all to yourself. A small xpat population who gather at the Hard Kock Kafe most days for a few drinks and tell lies. There is a water sport company and you can snorkel off the beach Check out www.wowbantayan

how long do you have? Bantayan and malapascua are more remote and take longer to get to and from - so is camiguin, which I like the most of those 3 ... alona is expensive and touristy

I would go with duma and siquijor .. the sand at siquijor is nice but near duma it isnt great - but duma is a pleasant town and has forest treks and great snorkeling and diving nearby

I have exactly a week in PH. Won't be stuck in 1 place throughout the whole of 1 week. I am concerned about the power supply in Malapascua but seemed like the place do look laid back. However, the travelling from Malapascua to Bantayan seemed like a long way & Im not keen to fork out P2000 per pax to travel direct from Malapascua to Bantayan. Guess i have to make a trip back to Maya, then Hagnaya, then to Bantayan.

both Malapascua and Bantayan in a week wont give you much time at your destinations
one day CC to Mala, then most of one to Mala then another full one back to CC -
that only leaves 4 days not spent travelling
