Just like in many asian countries, they profile people. If you are African and look poor, they'll ask you for your return ticket and "show money". If you're white, you shouldn't have any problems. If you are light-skin asian, who look japanese, be sure to cover your tattoo. A japanese passport and a dragon tattoo on your back is usually enough to deny you entry.
