Mindoro to Palawan?

Planning to travel by road from Manila to Batangas stopping once or twice (Tagaytay, Taal etc)
Then ferry to Puerto Galera for a few days
We want to end up in Palawan and see PP, Honda Bay, Port Barton, El Nido etc. in no particular order

Question is:-
Is it possible to get to Palawan from anywhere on Mindoro?
Eg can you sail from San Jose to Coron?
Or will we have to fly from PG to Manila then fly back down to PP/Nido?

There is no regular ferry connection between mindoro and palawan, but if the sea is not rough I think there are some owners of bancas in San Jose who want to arrange a private trip for you to Coron. I saw some travelblogs of people who have done it before,so it must be possible.

There was a fellow posting here before which said he was on a regular ferry service, a large banca going twice a week or so. Had a japanese sounding TT name, but don't remeber it...

get in touch with pandan beach resort ( pandan.com me thinks) in sablayan they are the one that knows the deal with the boat-- or better with (taophilippines.com) who does expeditions to apo reef and pandan island-- hitch a ride to coron..
