Anyone have suggestions about traveling to the Mayon volcano? My boyfriend and I will traveling there from Manila. We have approximately 2 nights, 3 days from January 14-17. Any suggestions on where to stay? How to get there? Hikes to do? Thank you!

The nearest town is called Legaspi. It has hotels, an airport and can also be reached by bus.

It would be advisable if you can book a bus ride or rent a vehicle and travel at night around 10pm onward so that there will be no heavy traffic to keep you down. Have a nice trip!

Thank you for the info everyone! I was thinking it was a bit closer to Manila, so I don't know if that will possible for the amount of time I have available. Also, the volcanic activity is concerning. Thanks for all the info!

its only a 1 hr plane ride to legazpi and around 1500 peso 1 way if book now -its still 1 month to your proposed travel so there may not be any volcano activity at that time ,there are people living there everyday.

The Oriental Hotel in Legazpi is built on the hillside above the city and has great uninterrupted views of Mayon
particularly awesome from the infinity pool. It's a bit pricey but a great place

Thank you for all the information! I think, knowing how far it is now, that we'll try to stick a bit closer to Manila. Thank you though!
