The last time I was in Manila, I wished there was some kind of map that showed the "official" bus and Jeepney routes. Does this even exist? I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to make, as they usually follow prescribed routes.
@ #5 - That's actually a good idea, but it's gonna be very tedious and very cluttered (visually) as there are SEVERAL routes that pass through the same streets. What's easier is for a list of streets covered per route, then it should be easy to follow on a detailed city map. It's different with the trains 'coz they have assigned stops/stations. For most of the buses and jeepneys, people can just ask to get off at random parts of the street. The more thoughtful drivers drop their passengers off at the nearest stop from where the passenger asked to get off, but some just literally swerve to the shoulder (if at all!) and hit the brakes. You better be ready for that.
Public utility vehicles usually have their routes displayed at the front and on the sides.
@ OP - When in Manila, where do you plan to go? If you already have an idea of the places you're interested in commuting to, I can help out in suggesting which rides you should take.
That goes for everyone else, actually. :)
