Hi, I would like to make 14 days a trip also in Palawan. I realy would like to do a budget island hopping tour to some beautyful lonely and nice beaches. And also do some snorkling. Is it easy to find a boat or can someone recommend something like a organised tour for 2 to 4 days? Maybe to start in El Nido or near Coron?
I plan this trip in January.
Is it easy to catch a ferry from Manila to Palawan and to go further to Boracay or Cebu?
Thanks in advance.

You can get an overnight ferry from Manila to Cebu and then get out of the city north to Hagnaya where you get an hour ferry ride to Bantayan Island. Santa Fe has the best beachs with snorkeling 100mts off shore. No crowds to worry about but still good bars when you want company.

This is a good address for some of the best island hopping.
Ferries from Manila to Palawan, i recommend only the Superferry once a week Friday, that stops in Coron on the way to Puerto Princesa. Other ferries are old wooden cargo boat that take up to 30hrs.
From Ilo-ilo there is Milagrosa Shipping to Puerto Princesa via Cuyo. You can get pretty cheap flights from Cebu-Puerto with Cebu Pacific and during the peak season, also Air Philippines will pick up this route again. Cebu Pacific
From El Nido you can fly Saturdays (Sundays from Oct15 onward) to Boracay with Seair.

You can do some 'island hopping' all over Palawan, there's always a boat somewhere that can be hired. Taking you to the remotest beaches and islands if you wish. However you wil have to charter said boat by yourself as most likely there are no other foreigners to share the boat. So it won't be cheap.
El Nido is the only place where you got organized day tours for island hopping. Art Cafe operates such boats. Take one of their sandwhich (homemade bread) along for lunch...
