Hi
I arrive in the Philippines on Dec.8 and my 21 day visa will run out on Dec. Thur. 27. Will be in Puerto Galera and wonder if the immigration office will be open over the Christmas period. If it will be closed could you please advise me on what to do to have my visa extended.
Thanks

elkie, I would suggest getting a 59 day visa in your own country (if there is a Philippine Embassy/Consulate there), or get the extension done before Xmas (say by the 20th at the latest).
I'm not sure if it can be done in PG (others may know). If not, it means going back to Manila (lengthy queues) or going somewhere a bit quieter (Dumaguete for example).

when you arrive in Puerto Galera you can apply straight away to the immigration office located in the centre of PG in the government building complex on the one way system opposite the high school, it will take up to an hour depending on how chatty you or the Immigration officer are but I have extended a visa in 20 mins. Even if you apply on Dec 9 you will still get the 59 days from December 8th
the office may not be open 5 days a week but will send yo a pm if i can find out what dys they will be open

Thanks for your advice so far. I will be arriving in Puerto Galera on Saturday the 22nd and the offices will most likely be closed.
So I could apply for another visa any time before it runs out? That sounds easy enough. I am arriving in El Nido on Sun.9 and will be continuing via Port Barton to Puerto Princesa, spending a few days in each place before flying to Manila for the trip to Puerto Galera on the 22nd.Are there any immigration offices on my way where I could have it done?
Thanks a lot

Puerto Princessa is the capital of Palawan, so I reckon they will have an immigration office.
Not too late to have it done at home though...
