Hi there!
My plan is to get to the Philippines by sea from mainland Asia (anywhere in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, or Singapore)

I know that one possible itinerary involves looping through Malaysian Borneo and taking the infamous ferry Sandakan-Zamboanga.

Anyone has other ideas/tips? Thanks.

there is no ferries and now that they've all become yuppies, you won't be able to hitch a lift with the Vietnamese Boat People any more like you might have been able to at one time. The only ferry option is the Borneo-Mindanao one you have mentioned.

Yes,that is the only ferry I know of too (and that is not from mainland SE Asia).

Thanks for your inputs.
Wondering if anyone has contacts/info of any cargo/sailboats boats doing the route from Thailand or Malaysia?

Thanks.
