Hi

Does anyone know the current ferry schedule between iloilo and puerta princessa? We are unable to find any up to date info online.
Thanks

you'll be lucky to find any accurate up-to-date info even when you get to the Philippines. You can't rely even on the accuracy of the information that they print in daily newspaper advertisements, never mind online.

you may have to call them up on the telephone, but good luck with that. Speak slowly, and avoid words in English of over two syllables.

may i ask why dont you take direct flight? no idea when you plan to travel but it would probably be a lot easier than taking ferry .anyway try here http://www.montenegrolines.com.ph/index.php?nav=6

it really is better to fly this. The price won't be all that much different to a flight. It is really just for Filipinos who need to take half a ton of junk or pineapples or something with them. I'm a big fan of night ferries actually but only when they are like 10-12 hours max. Even the Cebu-Iligan ferry which is like 16 hours and which I've taken twice, it really drags the last few hours. These vessels are not without a bit of amusement. It's nice to be on the sea of course. You can have a few beers and do karaoke (if there is a machine ; there isn't always). But it is not like the QE2 or anything. There isn't a jazz band, or a swimming pool, or deck tennis and quoits. They'll be no internet or phone signal for hours and hours and hours. Just boring.

Philippines ferry websites are permanently under maintenance the only one you can half rely on is the 2GO fast ferry site. You can't even trust the daily newspaper advertisements to be accurate, but they do at least have up-to-date phone numbers. Even though calling up Filipino ferry companies can be a bit tortuous, you might want to try that from abroard, a call of a few minutes placed about two weeks before you get there, won't cost much and at least you will find out what day and what time, the ferry is supposed to leave iliolo, if you enquire about how much it costs you will probably want tourist class that is where there is aircon, it is bit classier than normal class, but still shared facilities. If you are a couple you might consider having a stateroom where you have your own room - that is not all that expensive actually. It isn't all that much more than two tourist class tickets are.
