We asked about that and he told us there is also a morning sailing at 9am in the opposite direction, ie Cadiz to Bantayan Town, so must be two bancas in operation, each doing just one crossing per day..

Maybe a route we will use in the future when we need to head back to Negros..

Thank you Mr Surfboy for some good up to date info about the ferry.
can you still find a room on Bantayan island for under P500 a night.
as I would be coming from Bacolod city where I have been staying at the Sweet City Captel Backpackers Hostel
North captial Road. for p100 a night in the dorm.
and when I was in Cebu I paid p99 a night for the dorm at the Sugbutel bed and bath as I booked 30 days before.

Best bet is probably RR Lodging House next door to Marlins Resort, believe they have 450 peso fan rooms, simple place but just off the beach and easy walk to restuarants etc. Long, long time since we stayed in any daily rental place on Bantayan as we have a monthly apartment which is less than RR but has everything you need..

RR Lodging is an OK option. I was pleased with a place I had last year that was a small apartment with cooker and ref, that would have had cable TV too except they would not pay for the monthly subscription. Only place I ever stayed in that had no running water. I had to draw it from a well in the backyard.

Best is to use ferry from bantayan end of bantayan island. U can get there from Santa Fe with motorcycle very easy. Takes about 20min.
So it's NOT same pier as ferry from hagnaya!
Ferry has 2 trips per day. 9am and 12:30 noon
Regular price is 290p.
Pier fee is 10p.
Smaller boat take u to big banka style boat and trip takes different times, depends on sea condition and passenger numbers. But should not take more than 4 hours.
