My girlfriend & me will be flying to Cebu in 2 weeks from on & we are looking for nice beaches for snorkelling & lazing around without the crowds. We will be staying for 1 week, planning to visit Malapascua. I heard good things about Bantayan, Moalboal, Siquijor & Bohol. We don't want to rushto too many places & prefers to stay in 1-2 places to enjoy...

1) What is the best option? I will fly/return to Cebu & wish to minimise travelling time
(a) Malapascua => Bantayan => Bohol or
(b) Bohol => Malapascua => Bantayan,
(c) Bantayan => Bohol => Malapascua
2) Do i need to book accommodation in advance? Possible to haggle the price since i believe this is the low season
3) Any recommendation such as a must visit place for Bohol/Bantayan/Malapascua? Island hopping seem to be a good idea.

Thanks folks for your valuable advice.
Cheers,
Naga

Hi,

Was in Bohol (Panglao Island - Alona Beach) and Malapascua this time last year. Reserving in advance was not necessary as I recall. I really enjoyed both, although was not at the other places you mention.

In Panglao, we stayed at the Alona tropical at the east end of the beach. It was quiet down that way. Paid $20 a night for a beach bungalow. No a/c. The beach and water at Alona is great.

In Malapascua, my best recommendation is to stay on the main beach at the south of the island. Best water and beach. Most activity there. Malapascua is quiet compared to Alona and is a 5 hour bus ride north from Cebu city. (Less time by private van)

The Visaya's are great.

Have fun

Any recommendation for accommodation in Malapascua, preferably with 24 hrs electricity?

bohol is one direction - malapascua/bantayan is the other
to minimize travel time your only option is to just go to malapascua/bantayan or go to bohol and combine it with dumaguete and siquijor(another small remote island with nice beaches...and better snorkeling)

Do Bohol, then head over to Camiguin, WAY nicer than Malapascua these days, it may have whiter sand, but it's a building site! And only 2 hrs from Tagbilaran or 35 mins flight from Cebu with Seair Mon/Wed/Fri!

Thanks for the advice... either will move up North & head for Malapascua & Bantayan or Bohol, then Panglao & Siquijor.
