Hi! I am staying in Tagbilaran at the moment. I went out to have a look at famous Alona beach and its accomodation options. I am not overly impressed with the place. I have seen many nicer beaches. As I am not a diver but only want a nice beach with nice accomodation I am asking you guys who know bohol well, is there any other nice beaches that is worth staying at? I would be very happy for other suggestions! Is it possible to rent motorbikes in Tagbilaran? It seems like a good way to get around here. I know there is motorbikes for rent on Alona beach. Thanks in advance.

We really enjoyed our day trip to Balicasag and Pamilacan islands. Both have resorts and they looked nice when we were there.

Same with me. I always shudder when people tell how beautiful Alona is. Maybe they haven't seen anything real nice yet? It actually once was quite nice little beach, but that was a while ago. Quite a while...

Bohol never was among my favourites when it came to beaches.

on the main island i don`t know but on panglao isl i enjoyed dumaluan beach but that was a couple of years ago. It was remote and the beach was much nicer than alona. No diving there. Not sure how it is now.

Hehe, I thought I just had a bad day tools4fools. Obviously you agree with me. I have been to tropical beaches for 15 years now, so I know what it should be like (for me to like it, sometimes a matter of taste of course). nr1gwapo, I will check out dumaluan tomorrow when I have rented the motorbike. I am sure there must be a nice beach somewhere around here, hehe. Anyway, I will explore Bohol in full for a few days. Start with tarsier viewing and chocolate hills, maybe also tomorrow.

I was also less than impressed by Alona Beach. I thought the marine wildlife was less than it should have been and that the northern end in particular was not fragrant.

Is that ok moderator????

I went to Alona Beach about 10 years ago and it was fantastic, though it was the first tropical beach I had been to so that might have made it seem better..

I drove around all of Panglao island today. There is some nice beaches, but I think the nicest ones are out on other small surrounding islands (around both Panglao and bohol)
