Hi,

I've just visited the Air Philippines website (that's right - not Philippines Airlines) and found some very cheap flights. I made a reservation online, to which I got a message stating that my booking would be confirmed tomorrow. However, I am in Shanghai so how do I pay for these tickets? There is no credit card payment system online. Can I just turn up at the airport upon arrival and hand over the cash before I jump on the plane? (I doubt it)

Also, the fleet of planes they fly looks rather archaic - all over 20 years old B737 200s. I have had enough of flying in ropey planes in Indonesia.

Would you fork out more to fly Philippines Airlines?

Cheers.

Im wondering if the route was not service by Cebu pacific, air philippines is codeshared with Philippine Airlines. Why dont u give Air Philippines a call with regards to confirming your flight,or better fly Philippine Airlines for a small fee.May I know which route is that? I guess Cebu Pacific virtually covered all Philippine domestic sectors, and its quite cheap, the way ur Cebu Pacific PVG-MNL-PVG works..

Air Philippines is owned and being maintained by Phil Airlines. I've flown with them before and no problems. Reservations and confirmation of flights were done via email mostly but I was given a certain period to pay the fare at their business centers in Manila or the reservation will be forfeited. I have no idea how it works if you are based overseas but try communicating with them via email or calling them on their hotline. That or try other airlines going to the same destination.

Having waited 2 days for my booking confirmation from Air Philippines, and receiving no reply, I decided to phone them up. I asked a few questions to which they said they would reply in an email which i would receieve in 15 minutes, along with my confirmation. This was not forthcoming. It took three phone calls to get a confirmation for 1 of the 4 tickets that I booked, at twice the price offered on their site.

This company is staffed by complete cretins.

You can only buy the tickets in country.

I booked with Philippines Airlines in the end. Efficient. Unfortunately, they code shar with Phils Air, so I am going to be with the cretins anyway.

You havent been to the Philippines yet you're having a shitty time already....just booking. Haaahhaha well welcome to the Philippines! Where nothing is convenient. Goodluck. You'll need a very open mind. Before you lose your cool with the uber slow service, take a breath, man.
