So, my original query was to figure out if I could get SIM/ATM access between my flights, but now I'm worried I may not have enough time to catch my connecting domestic flight.

My international flight gets into NAIA T1 at 11a, then I connect to a flight to Puerto Princesa at 2p out of T4. I was thinking that, assuming flights aren't delayed much, that should be sufficient to clear immigration and get to T4. Is that unrealistic? I could always buy some 'insurance' in the form of another domestic ticket later in the day (5:35p) for around $35 in case things get significantly delayed.

Alternatively, is AirAisa good about letting passengers that miss a flight catch another one later in the day (I assume not, given their LCC status, but thought I'd ask)?

Probably a good idea to get insurance.
If the flight is on time just hop in a taxi and ask him to stop off to get a sim and some cash. You can get them in PP but there has been issues with withdrawing cash in ATMs in PP.

You could bring some cash with you and change it I NAIA. The rate is not as good as Manila. But better than PAlawan.

Turns out my international flight heading into Manila has only a 30% on-time record...so I went ahead and purchased a backup flight later in the day. Even if the flight had a better on-time record, in retrospect it was really cutting it too close, and I should have purchased the later flight to begin with...oh well, at least the domestic flights are cheap!

3 hours is the minimum amount of time you need even if the flight turns up on time.

Air Asia has a 45 check in deadline so in reality you have only slightly more than 2 hours.

cash up on arrival at NAIA if you have time.

don't faff around getting a SIM card until you have safely checked in. Once you've done that, you can look around T4 to see if there is a convenience store like a 7/11 like there is at T3 where you can buy them.

obviously you should have got the later flight at the first time of asking.

Yeah, not a very good move on my part...I was a little too excited about getting my tickets for so cheap (~$500 round trip from N.A.) that I didn't really research the domestic connection enough before booking...

At least now I have plenty of time to get everything sorted out..

they usually have these promo girls in NAIA selling SIM cards, but they cost more than in a 7/11 type convenience store, like 100 pesos instead of 40. SMART is usually the best one to get if you are only going to get one, but really, depending on how long you have in the Philippines, you should have both SMART and GLOBE Sim cards in a dual Sim phone if you have one. GLOBE is the better one for mobile data in a smartphone but SMART is better for normal calls and texts (they have more Filipino users).
