Hi everybody,
I'll be in Malaysia very soon: I'll leave from Shanghai - arriving in Kuala Lumpur - on the 29th for a 10 days trip. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to do much research about the places. But I would really like to visit two places:
-Perhentian islands
-the rainforest

What kind of itinerary would you suggest? I'll be alone, and backpacking is my cup of tea! :)

hi Forumers,

Need help and advises...
We have a dispute with a car rental company in Malaysia : Iprac, Pacific rent a car, agency of Johor Bahru.

Returned yesterday from Malaysia, we discovered that this company has taken 1000 MYR to our bank account:
- For damage which we challenge our responsibility (GPS screen broken : it fall down due to the fastening system provided, which is not the proper one, we have pictures to prove it).
- The amount charged is higher than 2 times the actual cost…

I was wondering about how to get from Semporna to Lahad Datu airport? I see much on the forums on Lahad Datu to Semporna, but my question is going in the other direction.

I have a tour that ends at Semporna dock or bus station in the morning. Then I have to be at Lahad Datu airport near noon. Could I take a bus or a taxi?

If so, when/how often do they run, how long does it take, how much does it cost? Would it be better to try to get a ride at the bus stop or Semporna dock? Is it something…

We are a family of 4 who will be staying in Kudat, Sabah in a few weeks. We are staying at Tommy's Place for 3 nights and our plan is mostly to relax and spend some time on the beach. Do you think it would be worth it renting a car to get around more easily (for visiting nearby beaches, dining elsewhere than at Tommy's Place)?

So far, I have only found two places that rent cars in Kudat: New Way Car Rental and Kudat Car Rental Centre (Melinsung). From what I can see on Google Maps, the first…

Hi,
My boyfriend and I are planning a beach trip after spending time with family in Hong Kong later this year.
Our plan was to fly into langkawi from HK and stay at a nice resort there, then head back to the uk via KL.
THe problem is we're not married, he's Muslim (Pakistani descent, born in the uk) and I'm white British.
He is worried about the Sharia law situation in Malaysia - will we get hassle, or even into serious trouble? We're not planning to do much away from the hotel as we're only…

I noticed already last year that in some places in Sabah prices had tripled compared to just a few years ago. Now I get the impression that prices in west Malaysia are also out of control. I've been quoted recently RM 2200 for a 3D/2N package in Endau Rompin (that's RM 1100 per night) by a Malaysian tour operator. And I understand that the accomodation in Endau Rompin does not even have A/C. In Redang decent hotels seem to start at RM 500/night, judging from a search on booking.com. If that's…

In the planning stages of a trip to Malaysia next year and I was thinking of including either a stay on a perhentian or redang for our beach time. The only trouble is finding suitable accommodation - most seem to have lots of complaints/poor reviews or just aren't right for us and it's nearly putting me off.

We are a couple and are looking for r & r. Not a five star spa, not busy, not full of kids, not a mega resort, no disco, no big swimming pool, not full of mould or mosquitoes. What we…

I would like to take a 3-5 day trip to Royal Belum-Temenggor for birdwatching.
I am traveling singly, and am having trouble finding a tour organizer who will accommodate a single traveler, or a trip of less than a week.
I am most interested in hiking and birdwatching, and I am a budget traveler.

Advice on tour organizers you found useful for this trip, or on logistics of the trip are appreciated.
