Does anyone know where I can get a good pair of travel sandals in Kuala Lumpur? Looking for the Teva, Merrell, etc. open sport sandal that would be good for travelling in warm climates and sturdy enough to walk far/ last a long time. Any stores or malls that might have multiple places to look?

I understand the weather in September is better on the east coast of Malaysia than on Penang. Can anyone recommend a quiet beach with reasonably priced accommodation (around 50.-USD), that can be reached by public transport?...

Hi, in a few days i would like to travel from KK to Mulu NP. Is a bus an option or better fly to Miri? There a bus or a MASWings flight? Any tips about Pinnacles trail and other must-sees also appreciated. I can Max stay four days in Mulu.
Thanks again,
Wim (sending this from a smartphone and the "mostly about Malaysia" button doesn't work, so i can only post it in this section, sorry)
Hi Everyone,
After receiving good information on other places I thought I would ask about Malaysia -
First: Being American, I can get a 90 day visa for Malaysia correct? And border runs to Indonesia or Thailand is not a problem?
Second: In which city would you recommend for living, someplace generally cheap, but nice, a city close too the water, not inland.
Third: Good places to look for apartments, flats, rooms etc.
Fourth: Does anyone here live or have spent time on Langkawi island?

I've narrowed down my options but need some advice around time in each place. I have three weeks (from 27 Dec) and will start/finish in KL. I'm primarily interested in wildlife and colonial cities/sightseeing as opposed to mountain climbing, trekking and diving. I'd rather see things than sit on a beach.
Would it be better to be in KL or Singapore for new year's eve (I am a solo traveller)? As it will be monsoon season in Kuching should I spend less time there? Is the intinerary too tight to…

Thank you for any help :)

Hi friends, I am Malaysia now and I would like to dive next week (from 10.11.), but the conditions aren't that great in November. Do you have any suggestions, where we could dive? I was thinking about Sipadan, but it was quite pricey and complicated to get there. And I don't know, if i would get the permit-they are limited to 150/day i think. Any ideas? Thanks,
F
