SSL changed their shuttle departure (KK-Kinabalu Park) time from 7am to 9am, thus arriving at the park at 11.30am. I came to know about the change only by chance when i visited their website.
I had booked the shuttle months ahead and plan to climb on the day itself.
now i have to get a taxi to the Park instead.
SSL did not even have the courtesy to email me about the change.
still hoping to see if any independent hiker wants to pull out of a climb on Mt Kinabalu on 28 July.
I'm still looking for a bed or even a room on Laban Rata.
Hi,
I got to KL a few days ago and I am interested in going to Taman Negara for 3-4 days. It seems that all the organized tours are one big crowded touristic festival which I would like to avoid…so, I am looking for few more people who are interested in going there in our own little group (3-4 people?) and cover areas that are not crowded by tourists. I would like to leave in the next 2-3 days.
I am a 31y/o male who loves traveling – but unfortunately I have only one more week in Malaysia )-:

hi all,
I am going to spend a few days in tioman.
I have to decide between the berjaya resort and the payabeach resort.
has someone been in one of them? which is the best.
well, my doubt for berjaya is that it is too big and there wil be lots of people, but on the other end maybe as it has some international standard, maybe it would be better.
please, help me to decide!

Hi, I'm in Semporna right now, and I'm looking for a good place to get some hiking in (I guess besides Kinabalu b/c I don't have a permit). I have a week left in Sabah, we're going to go see the orangutans, but we need somewhere else to go for some good hiking. Thanks
I am surprised that LP does not mention the tourist office in Komtar, Georgetown run by NGOs, they are generally very helpful and know a great deal, they will be moving to a new address in Septemper in Armienen Street
Hello Everyone,
I am currently planning a trip in Malaysia. My girlfriend and I will go to Singapore, KL, Melacca, Cameron Highlands and Teman Negara.
The last week of our trip we would like to hang out at the beach.
I narrowed it down to Langkawi and the Perhentians.
Most important to us are (in this order):
- nice and beautyful beaches
- some stuff to do on the island (walking tours etc.)
- Snorkling
I do believe that it terms of connections from Teman Negara/Cameron Highlands, both places are easy…
Hiya, looking forward to run up Mount KK for a quick height gain this August, wandering if hiring a guide is neccessary. I m not sure on how about to get a transport from KK town to the Park headquaters and and climb the next morning.
is it possible to arrange all the permit , formalities etc by myself the same morning before the climb, or it is a must pre-book everything.
thanks for advice.
