Taman Negara: looking for DEET (or an alternative)!

Hi peops! In a few days we will leave the Perhentians to visit Taman Negara. We would like to do the canopy walk and a boat trip.

I read we really need DEET there, because of the increasing dengue and malaria musquitos over there... but we can't find deet anywhere! :( Is it possible to buy it anywhere in Malaysia? Or is there a good alternative available?

You know that deet is just one ingredient in anti mossie sprays right? You won't find anything called just 'deet'. Most pharmacies should carry sprays/creams containing deet. The most widespread brand is "Off". Another one is Sofell (cream).

My partner always uses 'Off'in SE Asia...it contains deet and it works fine for her.

Thanks!! I did know deet is only one ingredient, but I didn't know 'diethyl toluamide' is its official name ;) we found an OFF spray, so thank you very much!
