Hello, I have made a last minute decision to skip Eastern Java right now and go to Malaysia instead. I have about 8 days and definitely want to go to Taman Negara. I have a few questions:
1) I land on 14/7/15 at around 11 AM in KL and plan to at least go to Jerantut, but would like to make it all the way on the same day, just not sure it's possible with such a late start. Trying to figure out where to book my hotel for that night - Jerantut or Taman Negara area.
2) Are there over night treks in the jungle in the area that you can book or just multi-day trips where you stay in the area with most hotels? Can you do that when arriving or should it be done on the spot.
3) Thinking to go to Pulau Perhentian afterwards - is it worth the trip up when I have limited time? Other beaches that are closer you might suggest? Need to be back in KL by 21/7/15.

You won't get to the park on the same day as landing. If you are lucky you will get to Jerantut. If you land at 11am on an international flight you won't get out of the airport for almost an hour.
I don't know if there are any official night treks other than short walks at night. You don't need to book any treks in advance, just wait until you get to the park.
