HI, i'm trying to see whats possible within two weeks and have come up with following: first 6 days are done
1 Bako NP
2 Bako NP
3 Kuching
4 Mulu
5 Mulu
6 fly to see Miri
7 Miri - surrounding tour
8 bus to see Sibu
9 Sibu -surrounding tour
10 bus/flight to Kuching
11 Kuching
12 Kuching
13 Kuching
How realistic is this? i think with the travel times between Miri -> Sibu -> Kuching i may be pushing it but did want to see longhouse (day trip) outside of kuching and thought of Sibu to do this from, also Similajau national park from Miri.
Would i be better off with:
7 Miri - surrounding tour
8 Miri - surrounding tour
9 bus/flight to Kuching
10 Kuching
11 Kuching
12 Kuching
13 Kuching
Is there enough to see in Kuching area for 4/5 days?
Also wouldn't mind day/night on beach to relax/party end - whats Damai beach like for guesthouses / beach bars
Thanks

Hi Feanor02,
Being a Sarawak native, I would definitely go on with the second itinerary as there is not much to see around Sibu. Kuching and its surrounding areas will gladly keep you occupied for 4/5 days. I would recommend you to visit the Annah Rais Bidayuh longhouse, the hot springs and the Sarawak Cultural Village. Further up northwest, you can visit Gunung Gading National Park and the white beaches of Sematan. The Damai Peninsular itself offers Mt. Santubong and the small coastal town of Buntal (famous for its super fresh seafood) Although much more expensive, I would definitely recommend you taking a flight between Kuching and Miri as the bus ride will take approx. 19 hours. Regarding Similajau National Park, it is actually much closer to Bintulu compared to Miri. Other national parks I would recommend you to visit from Miri would be Lambir Hills and of course Mulu. If you are not on a budget, I would highly recommend taking a flight from Miri to Bario in the Kelabit Highlands. Damai beach is generally quiet at night (the only time when the area gets spiced up is during the World Rainforest Music Festival), but there is a relaxing bar located right by the beach.
Enjoy your stay in Sarawak!

Hi aaronnbenjaminn
thanks i have decided to skip Sibu and fly to Kuching. 19hrs+ bus is too much for a two week break.
