A friend and I are travelling in Phi Phi at the moment and are looking to make the move to Malaysia in the next couple of days. I was looking for some advice on the best way to get to the Perhentian Islands from here. Thanks for any input.

I did a similar journey but in reverse so should be able to help out. Im assuming youl be coming back into Krabi?
If so, its possible to get a long distance bus to the Malaysian border at Sungai Kolok, possible connection to Kota Bharu, the biggest town closest to border. the jumping off point for the islands is Kuala besut, you can get a taxi there for around 15-20 euros, just ask around, then its your choice which island you want to go to!
Pulau Perhentian Kecil ( small ) is the back packers/ budget option and has an awesome beach at Long beach!
If youre into drinking be sure to bring some with you and money too. enjoy!
