Hi there,
me and my wife will spend few days in Perhentian Islands and we heard
about some good places (wild and isolated bungalows) on Kecil.
Heard too that we can only book from Besut's agencies before taking the boat. Is that true?
Hope to get informations, friendly people ;)
Many thanks!

I'm not sure about that, and I don't think it's very logical... but anyhow maybe you want to check this website out:
Perhentian Island
One of the pages state: *Long beach- Do not accept reservation here. only walk in..
So, I think you can get there first before booking a room there. If people ask you if you have booked any rooms, just say yes.. and say the name of any hotels/resorts. heh heh...
Do look at the website for more info and the price or booking infos. Enjoy your stay there!

The travel agent helps you with all kind of accommodation, usually the big and expensive ones. I went there 3 years ago and just bought the boat tickets to Perehentian Kecil without making any hotel reservatiions. I found it's hard to find small and budget hotel due to high seasson. But if you arrive at the island and looking around you'll find one.

Actually when do you want to come? most place was fully booked on August.. on Sept no problem.. but most place on small island (Perhentian kecil) not available for reservation just walk in basis.. so if you willing to come you better come early morning and catch early boat so you may have chance.
but some place still can make reservation like Petani beach, Lily chalet and watercolours resort.. just go to kuala besut jetty, get boat ticket and ask to the travel agency that you get boat ticket to check for you (call to the resort on the island) which place still available before you get the boat..

We will probably be there september the 10...
Many thanks for your answers Tinotivi and Perhentianboy
on sept I think no problem.. just make sure that you ask to the place that you get boat ticket to check for you whether have availability or not for you.. they can call to the resort on the island before you get the boat.. some place on small island not available for reservation but at least you know that chalet is available or not.. but for big island no problem, you can book in advance
If you like something "wild and isolated" Perhentian Kecil might be for you, more on the wild and less on isolated. Water and electricity would be scant, if not stingy. The stingiest of them is the Panorama guesthouses, cutting off water supply from 10 am til 8 pm and electricty from 4 am til 7 pm. And they're likely to pick a fight if you complain. Bring mosquito repellent, balm against insect bite and a paper fan.
