Lonely Planet highly recommended this place. Bad, bad, bad recommendation! Greeted at reception by two large, sleepy and disinterested people (possibly the owners). Neither helpful nor welcoming. The room is old and tired. Pilled sheets. The toilet leaks and every time I go into the disgusting bathroom I gag from the horrid smell. Unfortunately this might actually be the best choice in town - there's only a few other hotels.

I suggest you post comments here:

A blog has a post about them being given one room which reeked of cigaret smoke...they opened the window, came back later, same smell, got another room on higher floor, it was fine. Yet another blog, an other post, this time complaining about how ill-kept the town was: debris/trash in the streets, not at all like other places they had visited which made a point of keeping the town clean. Also sounds like the choices of eating places are few with the night market being recommended...all in all it sounds like a place to avoid...

OP---if it is still runnning ;-),the Greenland is not bad,by Kapit standards!

Kapit is not really a place to stay longer than it takes to get out to the longhouses....or waiting for a boat.
