Hi, I've decided with my limited time to only do a day trip to a longhouse. I was going to wait till i got back to Kuching where they offer the Annah Rais Longhouse 1 day trip. But i have found day trips from Sibi to Batang Rajang and Iban Longhouse/Bawang Assan Longhouse village.
Which would be recommended - kuching sounds easier to get from but is Annah Rais to touristy now. Sibi also offers the chance to visit Similajau (which has been recommended)
Thanks

Anna Rais is quite ugly:

The longhouses along the Rejang river might be a bit better, just don't expect to see many houses built with traditional materials. Most have corrugated tin roofs, satellite dishes, AC power etc.

Annah Rais is the most touristy for sure.So if that is a problem for you I'd do the other...

Don't expect too much from a day trip though.Even the longhouses in the 'jungle' can be quite modernised these days,as mentioned above. If you want a more old style experience you need to spend a lot more time (on travel, and on the actual stay too).
