I did the wetlands tour six years with the CPH Travel tour agency in Kuching, as a half day trip for RM 160. See my report:

and the pics:

The tour was ok, but we didn't see any dolphins.
I saw the dolphins from the passenger boat traveling from Kuching to Sibu - and it cost much less than that tour! :-)
Never visited the caves near Kuching.
Hahaha, agree it is expensive specially when you have a family of 5 persons :=)
How about the ferry to sibu, how much was the ticket, how long it takes, is it worthy to consider for 11 and 3 years kids?
I loved your pics indeed...
Now they ask for 175 per person which e will make the total cost for my family around 550...
Was looking for a cheaper option.
Thanks for the the sharing
The boat to Sibu cost sg like 35 RM and took maybe 4-5 hours.
Mind you, buses are the much more popular/common way to reach Sibu, and you'd have to check if the boat is still running at all.
Other than the dolphins in the river going out of Kuching, there was not a lot of interest along the way so it is probably only worth taking this boat if you want to go to Sibu anyway.
Btw, I am not sure what you are expecting from the wetlands, but it sounds like you might see much more for a lower cost by visiting other places like Bako NP.
