Hi, How much Ringgit can i take to Borneo? the latest lonely planet suggests RM1000? (190 sterling!) - is this still true? do they check?

Max amount in ringgit is the equivalent of USD10K (about MYR40.8K). If you're carrying in a foreign currency eg. USD, SGD, AUD notes, there's no limit but you need to declare anything above USD10K equivalent.

Not sure why you want to bring large amounts of cash to Borneo. There are ATMs in all towns, where you can easily get cash.
