My partner and I are travelling down to Kuching and have a few days before we return to Australia. I need some help with finding resort style accom so that we can relax before getting back to the hustle and bustle of work.
Any assistance would be great. Thanks

Holiday Inn Damai Beach is what you want. It's about 20 minutes by taxi from Kuching. They do have a private shuttle but it only goes at certain times of the day. Make sure it's the 'Beach' hotel, not the 'Lagoon' as the Beach one is much better. We booked it in Kuching and it was much cheaper than at home in Australia. Don't choose the standard rooms - get the Deluxe/Superior or whatever they are called. You can visit the Cultural Village which is about 2 minutes walk away. The pool at the hotel is lovely. The beach looks nice but is very shallow - you can walk quite far out when the tide goes out. The food at the hotel is fantastic and, as usual in Malaysia, is very good value.

Another Resort is Permai Rainforest Resort just next to Damai Beach. Better stay in the Tree House and you can have the sea view from the rooms. Beside that, we love the Kayaking in the sea to the nearby private beach for an afternoon.
