Hi~

Does anyone know how to book cheap air ticket from Sin to KK? I am now in China and I am going to visit Singapore in early May and spend the other part of my vacation in Kinabalu.

I have searched Google and found silk airline has such a flight. The price is around S$ 550, which is a bit higher for me. So would anyone tell me the way to book cheap air ticket on Internet or should I just come to Singapore and then book a ticket there?

And I would prefer non-stop flight to 1-stop flight if the price of the former does not exceed the latter too much.

Many thanks:)

You could try flying from Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu on Air Asia.

To be more helpful, I should have also told you how to get to this information from the Air Asia website.

I responded on the Singapore branch with some other options you may wish to consider. You should be able to get an online ticket for between RM$120-$90+ taxes in early May if you act quickly and get a midweek flight. Realize that several of these flights are quite early in the morning, and since it's nearly impossible to get to Senai airport from Singapore by the check-in time for a 7-8 AM flight you may have to stay in JB for the night and either take the earliest bus from the Citylink Terminal or a cab.

You should be able to make any flight after 10 AM from Singapore using public transport provided you leave early enough. Give about 3 hours leeway to take a bus, clear immigration at the two checkpoints and make the bus transfers at either the City Link (downtown) or at Larkin bus terminals.

One more point, JB also has flights to Sanadakan and Tawau. The latter is close to Semporna, which is the base for diving at Sipidan. Sandakan is close to the Sepilok Orangutan Center, Turtle Island, and the Kinabatangan River. The are about equidistant to Danum NP. And it takes about as much time to get to to Mt. Kinabalu from Sandakan as it would from KK (though to climb you need to have a booked accomodation at Laban Rata or one of the smaller huts on the mountain). That typically is done months in advance or by phoning in and begging.

Definitely cheaper to fly from Johore to KK as then it's a domestic flight, and the taxes will be much cheaper.
