Hello,

We are currently half-way through a 3 week trip in Sabah. We had originally planned to do three things: Uncle Tan's, Sipidan, and climb Mt. Kinabalu. We had an amazing time at Uncle Tan's (we did the 5day/4night camping add-on with an extra day camping... really nice) and have three days left to dive Sipidan (really impressed with the diving here, we saw a hammerhead yesterday!).

However we decided against the climb, and are now sitting in Semporna wondering what to do after the diving is finished. We are budget travellers so most everything I can find online is out of our price range.

We are pretty much open to anything within our budget of ~150-300 MYR per day. Would especially be interested in some trekking or off-the-beaten-track type activities.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi
If you run out of ideas and want to come back to KK and chill out in a nice apartment send me an email as I have a holiday home in KK and it is empty, so email me noel@penthousekk.com and we can let you have a look at it and if you want to stay we can do you a deal. One thing I suggest you do is the train trip to Temon or white water rafting , any way if interested get back to me

Why not dive a extra day for starters!
The Padas River raft is an amazing, exciting, and scenic day trip out of KK. The day includes the train ride, the white water rafting, and a BBQ lunch.
You can do it for RM160-180/each through many of the budget hostels in KK.
You can also do some of the day hikes around Mt. Kinabalu Park.....without climbing the mountain.
