Moyo island

Hi. I was there about March of this year. Took a local boat. Where we landed the only building was the ranger's house. It was natioal park. Some students showed me (in the forest)the huge mounds used by the maleo birds for nesting. (Sorry the name is not correct the students told me but they were similar to maleo.)
We also visited a bat cave where the students were capturing measuring and releasing the bats.
The boatman and I slept on the beach.
I am told there is accommodation elsewhere, but it was a great experience.

I am in Sumbawa Besar at present and have been told of a public boat to Moyo each day. It leaves from the small boat harbour just downstream from the large new bridge on what will be a new road heading along the coast towards Bima.

Hi. Just visiting. I am heading east to pulau Alor. Will try for Wetar but Laszlo's writing suggest may not be possible. I have my own motorbike. Came to Sumbawa Besar with friend Merentau via Lunyuk on south coast(great scenic road) and he took me to very interesting rock sarcophagai of unknown provenance about 50km inland from SB. Otherwise SB nice city. Am now at Hu u beach. May go to Moyo when returning west in two months.
