First of all I wonder if the ferry tours would operate in late march because this would fall at the end of the monsoon season?

We will be heading for Bali after Flores so wondered if a ferry tour from Laban Bajo -Bali would be a good option? I could only find posts/ferry tours operating in the other direction (Bali-Flores). If this plan is do-able, can anyone
reccomend a ferry/tour service?

If it is a bad idea then maybe a ferry to Komodo Island and back to Labuan Bajo is possible?? Opinions appreciated!!!

p.s my boyfriend gets sea sick.... :/ hehe

By a ferry tour...do you mean a boat trip? Like Perama?

If so,they do Labuanbajo to Lombok...

Perama is the best known company -- and yes, the ferries go both ways -- they don't scuttle them. It is not the only one but I don't know any other names. They are generally regarded as a safe company but they did lose a boat in a storm years ago (and at least one in a fire before that). I travelled with them in a previous incarnation of the trips.

Thanks for the info :)

I had a look but it looks like the ferry doesn't run in March (probably because of the weather?). Does anyone know if it is it easy to travel inland using public ferries/bus and how many days I should allow for this?

Thanks!

Shelley

I assume you mean overland from Flores to Bali.

Firstly remember the inter island ferries may be cancelled because of weather so build this in.

next do you want just to get as quickly as possible from Flores to Bali or see more of Sumbawa and Lombock.

If you just want to cross there are through services with linked buses and ferries that will take somewhere between a day and a half and two days from LB to Bali but if it were me I would fly if not stopping en route. If buying a through ticket make sure you buy it from a reputable company such as Perama (if they offer trip) as one hears of many rip offs where only the ticket on the ferry out of LB turns out to be valid
