Itineray sumatra three weeks - need help

Yeah i heard this, but we are having a long flight from Europe, so we are just going to kick back at a nice hotel for 1 day.

5-6 august medan hotel

7 august bukit lawang - arriving lunchtime
8-10 august bukit lawang (trek)

New itinaary.
11 august travel from bukit lawang to lake toba
12-13 august lake toba

14 august drive from lake toba to bukittinggi
15 august drive to padang and kerinci
16-20 august kerinci or 16 to 21 August.
21-27 august drive to padang, coast and islands

We fly home from Kuala Lumpur in the evening 28th of august. Would it be too risky to take the plane from Padang to KL the same day? or should we go the day before and stay one night in KL?.

If it is a tight connection, definitely the day before.
If not so tight, it's up to you to decide whether you want the extra day in Sumatra with a small risk, or rather play it safe by being in KL a day early.

Yeah, we fly out at around 20:25 in the evening, so we could get the morning plane at 8. On the other hand, it would be less risky if we took the afternoon plane the day before.

Furthermore, would you recommend going back to Medan from Parapat to catch the flight to Padang, to go to Kerinci?. It seems like the travel time from Parapat, even in private car is insanely long?

14 august drive from lake toba to bukittinggi (10-12 hours how long will this take with private transport?). stay evening in bukkitingi

15 august - Leave for Harau valley in afternoon

16 august, trekking Harau Valley,
17 august: From abdi hometay to Kerinci -i (9 hours)
18 august (B, L, D) Trekking to Shelter 3 Kerinci Mountain and Camping (7/8 Hours)

19 august (B, L, D) Summit Attack 3805m Ask and Back To The Kerinci Home stay.

20 august (B, L, D) Day Trip To The MT. Tujuh Lake and Back To The Kerinci Home stay.

21 august (B) Transfer back to padang (9 hours)

22 august - leave for islands (pagang, marak and?). We might opt for an extra day in Kerinci?.

23 august Islands
24 august: islands
25 Islands Islands
26 Islands - overnight stay in padang
27 august: may have to leave for Kuala lumpur to Padang, as international plane leaves 28th august at 2025. We are not sure about this?.
28 august: May leave from padang to KL
28th august in the evening: leave from Kuala Lumpur

14 August..... if leaving Toba at 7am and arriving at Bukit tunggi 12 hours later you'll have a couple of hours at night and a morning to see around the town..... if using private transportation why not go straight to harau valley from Toba?
From Abdi Homestay you then travel to Kerinci..... stop off at Bukit tinggi for a night before onward travel to Kersik Tia (Kerinci)........ but to be honest unless you're looking for provisions and/or clothing etc for your Kerinci climb Bukit tinggi is okay to miss out on...especially with your limited time.
