Heye guys,
I'm going to West Kalimantan, pontianak in September for 3 weeks to volunteer in a hamlet (home). I've heard mixed reviews about the safety of the place and I'm a 24 year old girl travelling on my own so I'm just a bit nervous about that.
Anyone been there or have advice?
Thanks.

Of course it is safe, no less than other parts of the country anyway.

My info & thoughts:
on East-Indonesia.info: Indonesia, Maluku, West Papua, Raja Ampat & Indonesian Visas
on Thorn Tree: Seeing Orangutans, Kalimantan, Kiribati & Tuvalu
