Which currency is better to bring through Indonesia, Euro or USD???
Which one is the most widely (& easily) changed????

Is it true that you can a better rate getting money from an ATM?
I'm not saying cash is not good to have on hand at all time but I'm just curious on the question above.

Some of the money changers will post a rate that is slightly better than the bank/ATM rate. However, when you see that, there is almost always an "exchange fee" involved that makes the overall rate lower. I personally think ATMs give a better rate and are safer than carrying a wad of cash. Got to keep up with that ATM card though..

why not Indonesian rupea from ATM. Why carry foreign currencies when local money is easily available. There is a lot of warnings in hotel about money changers. most are crooks and will not give you the exact cash you request. count right in front of them before leaving if you decide to go for them.
