We are a family of four, 2 adults, 2 children (boys ages 10 and 13). We are looking at travelling to Bali in September and there are thousands of places to choose from. Looking for recommendations that suit children & families, are not expensive, not specifically looking for a kids club (our children are probably beyond that), but something that has families around, and the kids join in at the pool, that sort of thing. Would prefer 2 rooms, or accommodation where the kids have their area to sleep. Probably prefer something out of central Kuta - north or south of, but walking distance to the beach.

you guys would probably love Ubud Bungalows. Its gorgeous has a fab little pool for the kiddies and its way too cheap for what you get. I just paid 20USD minus a 10% discount for being there a week. Two nights I had to stay in a bigger room with a giant bed and a little bed. The newer rooms are to die for and are the ones farther from the pool. Everybody in Bali loves childrens so its a great place to go. Theres lots of bugs and flowers and colorfull things everywhere-not to mention a Monkey Forest - how cool is that. Have fun-A--check my driver rec on here too he's great and he's got a van.--beach eh well everything is driv(er)able in Bali.

If you have children I wouldn't recommend Ubud so much as it is at least 45 - 60 mins drive to the beach if the traffic is good and there isn't much for children up there (I lived there so do know this for a fact!) check out www.tripadvisor.com as that has peoples reviews of hotels, resorts etc and can be very helpful in making a choice. There is a ton of suitable accommodation in Kuta/Tuban/Seminyak/Legian all within walking distance of the beach and shops/restaurants.Have fun!
