Hi,

My friend and I are thinking of going to Bali (including Lombok and Gillis)around mid September for 2 weeks. We want diving/snorkeling, good beaches and culture. No luxury boring resorts. Is the weather fine around that time? we only have 2 weeks so we cant travel long distances. We were considering Bali or some place in the carribean...can you help me out?

thanks!

The weather is generally ok in September...pretty dry, warm and sunny most days.

On the other points,,,Bali has a very interesting culture, some decent beaches (better on Lombok)and reasonable snorkelling and diving (other parts of Indonesia have much better, but depends on you, your level of experience and what you are used to).

I would also be interested in good diving spots for Bali. I heard Padangbai or Penyabangan should be good for beginners (I only did the open water course and not more)

Komodo should also be great for diving but I'm not shure if I can go there as a beginner...

Komodo is a great place for diving. Its possible for beginners in some places to make land based dives, and they are...pretty good.

The best dives there are not suitable for beginners however.....there are strong currents and difficult situations with most of the dives possible there, esp. the boat based ones.
