hi folks
i am going to bali next week for 5 days and am wondering if that is going to be enough time to get out to the islands or should i just stay on the mainland / kuta area?
also, my flight lands at 11pm at night so if anyone could recommend a safe hotel close to the airport (maybe with airport pick up) that would be much appreciated.

Yup, you should still have some extra time to wander around; Kuta is 20minutes drive from the airport.

Hi,
I don't think you'd have time to go to the Gili Islands because it seems like it takes about a day to get there from Bali (I haven't done it but have spoken to plenty of people who have), but, you would have time to go to Nusa Lembongan - it's 1.5 hours by ferry from Sanur. You could go one morning and then come back the next morning. You can also go by speedboat in the afternoons. There have been some recent posts about Lembongan, it's a very relaxed place to stay and beautiful views of east bali.
