@h5n5
Thanx for the suggestion, but i think for this time i will restrain to the Bandas and let the Kei's powdery white sand beaches to a next time

@sambalgoreng
great details, i have already spotted the location and will sure get to this restaurant...the cooked banana seems a yummy dish as well!

@Laszlo
Latuhalat seems attractive but if i ever get one overnight stay i shall stick to Amba=on proper to avoid extra transportation expenses and delays. i have already pinned the local museum, maybe the eel pond near Tulehu and possibly the nearby hotspring. if i ever affor extra time, will try to get lazy at collin's beach.
Then if the pelni is more reliable and more conveniently calling at ambon proper than i will prefer it for sure go for it provided it fits with my arrival date
Nasi Kuning? isn't that a Sundanese recipe? how come you prefer that of Ambon. Anyway, anything with coconut milk immediately tops my list! HAHA

@Giora
Good to know about how much time to allow to reach the port of departure. Tulehu seemed so close to Ambon!

BTW, one last question (i hope so!), i am looking at taking the 7:50 Am flight from jakarta to Solo (lion air flight), planning to take Damri bus from gambir, how much time ahead of my flight should i hop on board of the shuttle? 5 am or earlier? or should i just stick to a blue bird taxi? how much time should i allow for this last option

Many thanx again for your kind and fast help

Never noticed nasi kuning in West Java, and in fact it enjoys little popularity in Java, while it is very popular in East Indonesia. In Ambon it is served both in the mornings and evenings mostly at temporary stalls on the streetside, the street straight inland from the Pelni port, especially between the Al-Fatha mosque and the abovementioned Penginapan Asri, is a very good place to get it with a good variety of fish or chicken in servings far bigger than in Java. Far more popular and easier to find than papeda!

Leaving Gambir by Damri at 5 should be OK.
It should be less than an hour to the airport.

My info & thoughts:
on East-Indonesia.info: Indonesia, Maluku, West Papua, Raja Ampat & Indonesian Visas

@Laszlo

My fault. Somehow in the maze of wikipedia, nasi kuning overlapped tumpeng in my perception due to the yellow color!!
The culinary feast list seems to get longer and longer as my researches deepen. and i will struggle hard to keep it checked with the even longer tropical fruits list.... i am not complaining though!

Many thanx again for your great help
