Hi everyone,
We're going to Taiwan the first 2 weeks of August. I read that it is busy in that period, but how busy is it? We're not that planners and I'm curious if it is doable to book a room at the last moment in Taiwan? Or is everything fully booked in high season?
I'm going to Vietnam and have a 13 hour layover in Beijing from 12pm.
Time-wise, I'm wondering if this is achievable... I want to see as much as possible, but I also don't want to rush.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated, or experiences anyone has had in a similar time frame....
I'm estimating about 2 hours to get out of the airport and getting a taxi to Jingshan Park. Arriving approx 2pm.
Is this realistic? I've heard a taxi will cost around 150 CNY each way?
I'll get dropped off at…
Hello. I am going for the Kumano Kodo Nakahechi route from July 31st to August 6th. I will be coming from Tokyo via night bus. I was wondering if anyone here already did the full 5-day hike just wild camping along the way? I am now finalizing the trip, however still undecided whether to push the camping as I have seen only a couple of campgrounds or three along the trail on the map. I also thought of staying in some ryokans every other night just for proper washing and meals, or are there other…

I've finally booked my ferry, and am going on a road trip to Hokkaido this summer, for at least 2 and a half weeks, maybe a bit longer. The aim of the trip is to see lots of Hokkaido, learn a lot about the place, experience whatever is there that isn't in the rest of Japan, and have some fun in the mountains (and with the bears). This is going to be the first of two threads I start on my trip, concentrating on cultural topics. I will deal with natural attractions and driving based…
Hello,
We are planning a 3 week trip to Japan in mid-September to early October and are looking for some advice on our itinerary. We are a well-traveled backpacking couple in our mid-30s. This will be our first trip to Japan. We have already put together a basic itinerary but are wondering if we should include a stop-over in Hakone or if we would be better-off adding an additional day to one of the cities we are already visiting? My concerns with Hakone, is that it may be overly crowded and…
Hello, I'm organizing for 7 members of my family plus 2 babies to meet up in Japan this September. As we have family in Hawai'i and London, Japan is the easiest place to meet. I'm looking for suggestions for a place where we could rent a house for one week and hang out together. Looking for a place which has:
-A small town or suburb which has nice restaurants, cafes etc. that we could all go to as a group.
-Onsen
-Ideally, some nice walks in parks/countryside that can be done with 2 babies (3…
I've been looking at many weather reports for both Japan and Vietnam. People have told me that the humidity in Vietnam feels very different than it does in Japan? Anyone on here who has been to both and can tell me what you think in terms of the difference. I know that there are different climates in both countries but overall it looks pretty hot/humid in Vietnam. We are thinking of giving up our trip to Vietnam and Japan in favor of only Japan for this reason. I would hate to miss Vietnam if…
Hi everyone. Considering a three week trip to Japan and am interested in off-the-beaten path spots that are big on culture. I had originally wanted to go to Hanoi and Hoi An in Vietnam to give you a taste of the flavor I’m after. I know they are very different places but curious if anyone has suggestions. Thank you:)
Hi, I'm traveling in China for 16 days at the end of August - beginning of September and I'd like to know what do you think of the itinerary I was thinking of:
-3 days in Shanghai
-1 day in Suzhou
-1 day in Nanjing
-4 days in Beijing
-1 day in Datong
-1 day in Pingyao
-3 days in Xi'an
-1 day in Luoyang
-Back in Shanghai
I was thinking of moving around by train.
We are planning , on next September , our third one month journey in this fantastic country starting from Shanghai to Nanning .
Following the railway line stations it'snt much difficult to arrange the places to stop and then catch a bus to reach the destination , except for the area from Nanchang to Guilin ( over 800 km) :
We would rather to visit small towns and villages situated in green natural enviroment , better off the beaten tracks .
Thank for your help
